Weaving With What You Have – You don’t need a big loom to weave on! Looms can be made out of cardboard, picture frames and various other materials. You can even weave 3-dimentional shapes! If you want to play with yarns and learn some fun freeform weaving techniques, let’s talk about it!

Art Doll Making – Art dolls are a totally creative way to explore different fibre arts techniques. Let your imagination run wild and get super creative while making a totally unique doll. In this class there will be lots of guidance and inspiration to lead you into making a special piece of sculpture.

Creative Mending – Do you have a hole in your favorite sweater or is the heel worn out of your socks? I can show you some fun techniques to repair and embellish your knitwear using darning, embroidery, crochet and needle felting.

Beginner Embroidery – Embroidery is a versatile, fun and portable hobby! It is wonderful to add to your hand-made items OR jazz up items in your home or closet! In this class we will go over basic stitches using felted knit fabric and scraps of yarn.

Knitting – If you want to learn how to knit or improve your knitting skills we can design a class that suits you and what you’d like to learn. Basic classes, altering a pattern, the importance of blocking, pattern reading, sock making, seaming techniques – every facet of knitting can be yours to learn.

Crochet – Crochet is becoming very popular! If you are interested in learning or improving your skills, let’s talk! We can customize a class together! Lace, freeform, 3-dimentional, Tunisian crochet, granny squares – you name it!

Hand Spinning – Do you have a spinning wheel you’d like to learn how to care for and use? How about using a drop spindle? We can talk about fibre selection, preparation and spinning techniques to get you started. If you’ve been spinning for some time, how about adding some art yarn techniques to your repertoire?

Want further customization? Are you interested in combining techniques? Perhaps adding crochet to your weaving? Finishing your knitting with a crocheted edge? The sky is the limit…

"I took Alisa's Creative Mending course, and even though I'm an experienced 'mender' I learned new, fun ways of approaching mending which really allowed me to access my creative side! Now all our mended sweaters and socks are much more fun!" - Sandy Auld, Guelph, ON
